This was actually the second book I did just over a year ago for a good friend, and now I'm finally posting the pictures of it!

Here is the cover:

Her colors were pink and brown (if you couldn't guess), and the materials used were paper and stickers. This book was made before I got my die-cut machine. Also, the book was 9.5" x 9.5" overall.

The binding was sewn in a similar way as my own:

Tiffany loves polka-dots, so I thought the paste-down paper was perfect for her. The paper used for the pages was the rose colored Ingres paper. It's a softer textured paper and went well with the book. It does take stronger adhesive for the pictures and accents to stay, and you need to proved a felt pen instead of ballpoint for people to sign with, but it's a very nice paper.

This is my newest book for my friends Callie and Andrew who get married in just over a week! Yay! Notice how the lettering for the names matches the green for the main color of the book. I have a wonderful new machine - QuicKutz Silhouette - which is a digital die-cut machine and will cut letters from any font on your computer. It's amazing! I also added eyelets to this book, which makes the front cover look very nice.
Once again, coptic books lay flat when opened, which is ideal for a guest book.

Here is a book done a good friend of mine from college, Marci. The style is a bit different from what I've traditionally done, and it was a lot of fun making it.

I also did the crossing pattern on the binding of this book.

Here is my wedding book. It was the very first wedding book I made.

I did a crossing pattern on the binding, which is not traditional Coptic sewing, but it's fun.

A nice thing about the Coptic book is that it lies flat when opened which makes it easier for guests to sign.

This book was for another of my coworkers. It is also 8x8 with 10 sections, but used ivory Mohawk. I also used two colors of thread for the sewing, which braided them together nicely along the spine. On the cover, I used stickers for the lettering.

This books is 10 sections thick (160 pages). The textblock paper is white Mohawk.

This book was for my coworker and his fiance. The size is 8x8 with purple and brown (embossed) cardstock, and the blue is ribbon.

The wedding guest books can be made in any size up to 10x10in; the most popular size being 8x8in. The covers are made using sturdy bookbinder's board and quality acid-free paper and/or bookcloth. The cover picture can be any size as the window is custom cut. The paper used for the textblock is either Ingres (very soft texture) or Mohawk superfine. Both papers are of high quality and each have their advantages and disadvantages. Ingres paper is soft to the touch, very beautiful, and comes in a variety of colors; however, it is more expensive and a felt pen is required for writing on it. Mohawk superfine comes only in ivory or white, is less expensive, and is good for journaling with any kind of pen. Neither paper is lined which allows for creative placement of pictures of the bride and groom as well as space for longer messages by guests. Books come with a minimum of 10 sections for a total of 160 pages. More sections can be added if desired. Books are sewn in the Coptic style (see examples) using waxed linen thread.
